We offer a 10% discount for students and pensioners.
Filharmonia Hungary season ticket holders can purchase tickets with a 20% discount by showing their season tickets! The discount applies to one ticket per subscription, per concert.
The individual discounts cannot be combined.

VERDI FOREVER
Nyíregyháza cannot be without opera! This February, audiences can enjoy the most captivating and unforgettable opera melodies from Verdi’s oeuvre, performed by the Miskolc Symphony Orchestra, soprano Kinga Kriszta, and tenor István Horváth. In the 2025/26 season, both artists received the Hungarian State Opera’s most prestigious distinction, the title of Chamber Singer.
The program features beloved melodies such as the Glove Song and La donna è mobile from Rigoletto, along with two of the best-known excerpts from La traviata: È strano… Sempre libera and the Brindisi, as well as additional overtures, arias, and duets from Nabucco, I vespri siciliani, Macbeth, Otello, and Don Carlos.
Although Verdi’s music is richly orchestrated, he regarded melody as the most important means of musical expression, which is why his arias often feature a unified, powerful vocal style. By his own admission, he did not consider himself the most technically accomplished composer, yet he used orchestral resources consciously and effectively to heighten dramatic tension, as demonstrated in scenes from Rigoletto. He also introduced innovative approaches to harmony and theatrical sound effects. Above all, he placed great emphasis on the dramatic narrative: working closely with his librettists, he removed every unnecessary element to bring the most powerful, emotionally charged moments to the forefront.
His music created extraordinarily melodic, memorable, and expressive arias that linger in audiences’ minds long after the final note. Replenish your spirit with Verdi’s most beautiful melodies!
